Guillermo del Toro remaking The Haunted Mansion Movie in 3D @Disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog
One of the biggest news to come from Comic Con 2010 was the announcement of a new Haunted Mansion movie. Among the details about the new movie was that it will have no relation to the 2003 Eddie Murphy version of the movie. The movie would be true to the original ride at Disneyland with the main character of the short lived appearance of the Hatbox Ghost.
Guillermo Del Toro promises the movie would be more scarier and keep true in version to the original ride. 3D will be the defacto enhancement to the movie while paying homage to the Disney’s imagineers version of the ride. Here’s video of Del Toro explaining his version.
A lot things interesting things Guillermo Del Toro says there. He’s knows the ride inside out it seems. He call out the names of the Disney’s Imagireers of the ride, and give insight to his feeling about the ride and how it means to him. As for the Hatbox ghost here some concept art of what the character will look like in the movie.

The fan’s seem to he happy with the announcment to this new movie in the works. Here’s a little video of how it transpire at the Comic Con floor.
Well, it would be interesting how the Disney community handles the news. HMMM I wonder what Disney podcast is going to take this news like(maybe Ricky)? The top first image is the official logo for the new Haunted Mansion movie. While there no other details release let’s hope that this movie could make for the long return of the Hatbox Ghost. While it’s never been at the ride for so long, it has gotten a big fan base hoping that the Hatbox Ghost himself would return to the rides.
So, could the HatBox return. Will have to wait and see.
Me, I hoping the movie is good enough that another video would come out.
As many probably know that the movie version for the video game wasn’t well received even though it was well review.
Yeah we had heard of this a little while ago when it was still in the maybe stage. Found out about it just about ther timeGuillermo finished pushing his book and ran out of NZ. Good enough reason to go since The Hobbit wasn't paying off.
Good luck to Guillermo, but then as long as Eddie Murphy is nowhere near this one it can only be a step up.
