IFC.com did a podcast segment about amusement park movie rides. It was pretty interesting to listen to because at the end they talking about what kind of movie rides they want to see. It's fun to listen too from a view point of film enthusiast. Give it a try. Here is the link, as well as, source page to the podcast segment.

Now I like rides based on movies. With my Aliens movie ride post and the Star Trek movie review post where I took a history of Star Trek rides into account I really like movie rides a lot.
So, I didn't know that once there was a ride about Right Stuff movie.
So, I check this out and found two great sites that has some pictures and pages devoted to the Right Stuff ride. It was motion simulator ride where you ride the historic event of breaking the sound barrier. So cool huh!

Iwerks was the company that developed the ride and was located at Six Flags in NJ and TX.

The more I find out about how many rides were based on films the more I'm surprise of what other properties they try to make rides into. It reminds me of those laser disc arcade like Dragon Lair, Space Ace, and Road blaster. There was a time when arcade companies would take footage from Japan anime and make Dragon Lair type of arcade games. For example, Cliff Hanger was footage taken from Lupin III: The Mystery of Mamo a Japan anime show and made into a Dragon's Lair type of game.
Here's some footage of what that game look's like.
