This is just amazing. One of my favorite Disney movies is getting a remake. The Black Hole is getting prep by the guy's doing the sequel to Tron. The original movie was a basic rip of 20,000 leagues under the sea but in space. Some of the robots had a cutie design to them and it's characters were stock stereotype, but the look and theme of the film was very dark and cool. It had a one of the most scary looking and deadly robot called Maximilian and it was a terror to see in action.

The remake will be mostly on real science then the original had done, and bring back the evil Maximilian robot. Looking back on the that movie I remember how cool the ship was and the way The Black Hole was shown as a spooky and powerful force. Those matte paintings where just works of art that only Disney seem to do well. One thing about the movie was it's ending which had Hell in it. This is one strange ending but was done in style that would be revisit later by other films like Event Horizon.

Here's a little trivial for about The Black Hole ride. Disney had plan to make a ride based on The Black Hole to replace Adventures Thur Inner-space. But due to it's box office performance not being to stellar, it would later be rework to fit with Star Wars license as we all know as Star Tours. One thing cool about what The Black Hole ride was the idea of guest choosing their own path in the ride. This idea would later be introduce in Epcot's Horizon(my favorite) where guest would choose 3 endings of the future at the end of the ride. It getting weird and great seeing a lot of stuff getting remade or redone like V, A-team, Battlestar Galactica, Roger Rabbit, Star Trek, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Outland, Buck Rogers, Karate Kid, Fight Night, I mean the list is getting long. I just hope they all good like they did with Star Trek and Batman.
