I really wanted to do that sometimes, you know.

There are times and moments where life is really funny but not at that particular time. When it comes to movies and TV it becomes basically clear what those moments really meant.
Like any good storyteller taking these moments and making them into literature and media is an art. That is in a small way is what John Hughes did masterfully and much more. Being young, teenager, outsider, family man, parent, kid, and human, John Hughes did what few have done by capturing life’s most imperfect situation and laughing about in a related way. John Hughes has pass away and like many other legends he made a impact on a generation that will be miss. For those who don’t know who John Hughes is  you can see his influence in many other people works. The Simpsons, Family Guy, In the Loop and other movies or tv show that deal’s with family’s most common trials in life.

If you’re a kid or parent that you can relate to the family vacation road trip. John Hughes Vacation movies series is one of the best examples of that. How many times have you been bored, smell something funny at the back seat, got lost, broken something important, and was disappointed by life unexpected events.  The first vacation movie is very much a funny example of life’s many turn, but more importantly it's the journey not the destination that matters. If anyone who seem the movie should read the short story that John Hughes wrote that was the basis for the first Vacation movie. Did you know that Walt Disney gets shot in the leg in the story.

But many of his movies did what he rarely see. Growing up in a funny but related way. Who hasn’t of creating the woman of there dreams, having a fast car, beating up the bullies like in “Weird Science” or being the ignore kid in the family like “Sixteen Candles” or in room with nobody you can related too but having more in common then you think in “Breakfast Club” or Going out to a family vacation to the beach or woods only to find you not having the time of you life like in the “Great Outdoors”  or eating that big steak for a free meal.

Or having a family and meeting life trying problems in “She having a baby” or tying to get home for the holiday’s in “Plains, Trains, and Automobiles” or having that troublesome family dog like “Beethoven.” Also yeah, I been though those holiday travel nightmas too.

What about being left alone at your house like in “Home Alone” or taking a day off form school like in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”. While he’s movies and is work on National Lampoon magazine. There’s a lot that can be said about John Hughes work. It was a voice of a young generation, comedic genius, and a great writer and filmmaker. He left a impression on me and other’s that we all can relate too.

While his later works like Flubber, 101 Dalmatians, Drillbit Taylor  and other’s are seen more like movies then life impression. We still got a stamp on what we could relate too.

Here's some links to National Lampoon John Hughes works. Check them out you find a lot of funny stuff.

While we miss John Hughes I can say “yeah, I know how thats like” when seeing his movies or reading is stories and laughing out loud with him. To John Hughes:  Thanks for it all.
