In shocking news this week, Ricky Brigante has resign from Orlando Attractions Magazine.  Ricky Brigante was one of the founders and Creative Director for the magazine since it's inception.  Mr. Brigante has sold his half of ownership of the magazine to his partners and has gone on to formed a new company Landyard Labs.  While he's out of the magazine business he's not out competently.  He stated that he will drop on by as a guest and contribute to the magazine as a guest writer for articles from time to time.  Ricky Brigante isn't going out of the loop altogether, as he will continue with produce and host the "Inside the Magic" podcast.

I just got my copy of the 2009 winter edition of Orlando Attraction Magazine and I find this shocking.  I hope the magazine continues with same level that Ricky brought to it, but it's sad to hear him go.

Here's the link to Ricky Brigante sign off article.

That's too bad.  I enjoy Ricky's show, though I haven't caught it as much recently.

I haven't picked up the magazine yet, though.  Assuming it doesn't go downhill after Ricky leaves, is it worth picking up?

I got my issue of Winter 2009. It's a very nice magazine with a lot of good pictures. I think it's worth a shot just to see some of the stories that takes a different look inside what Orlando offer.  At there web site you can check out past issue to get a feel of what those magazine look like. I would give it a try.

Yes it is a shame, though it is my understanding he will still do the occasional article and contribution.  Despite what he says it is against his nature to just stop doing it altogether.  Over achiever that he is.  In any case, he seems happy with his new business venture and between that and the podcast and the multiple forums.. he had his hands a little too full anyway.
