This is going to be amazing! Sounds like a ton of stores and places to eat will be in that land too. To bad we didn't get more info on the castle.

Wow! The theming looks great. Got to go there next year. I got a feeling that the signature Forbidden Journey darkride attraction will raise the bar again for themepark attractions (ala Spiderman). Otherwise, the immersive experience alone looks like it'll be quite impressive. I want to see just how detailed the area will be. Pretty exciting.

Thanks for the links!

Not too much longer and we will be able to see if Universal is creating something worthy of all the hype.  From what I can see right now, I think they will.

I think we're going to miss it by that much. In town March 26 - Apr 1. Looks very interesting, even to this non-Potter fan.

That may be a little early, but always be optimistic.  Maybe they will have a really long soft opening.  Maybe they will soft open just the shops.  Either way, good luck, I hope you get to see some part of it.

Well it's been announce. June 18, 2010 is the opening the of Wounding Wizard of Harry Potter at Island of Adventure only at Universal Studios, Florida(yeah, sounds like a plug doesn't).

So, with the announce date there was some details about the forbidden Journey dark ride to sure to be a game changer.  For now let see what the detail are. The of the first thing you do is enter the queue which will be a attraction onto it self with these show stoppers.
Quote:
As you walk through Hogwarts to the ride you’ll pass iconic locations taken from the films. Such as:
• Dumbledore’s office: Here, you meet the Headmaster as he welcomes you to Hogwarts.
• Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom: Where you first meet Harry, Ron and Hermione.
• Gryffindor common room: You meet three additional characters who prepare you for your journey
• Room of Requirement: Here, with hundreds of floating candles above, you take your seat on an enchanted bench and begin the Forbidden Journey. In addition, guests will pass through the Dungeon passageway, the greenhouse and hallways of Hogwarts where they will have the chance to see hundreds of wizard portraits including the Fat Lady and the never-before-seen four founders: Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff and Rowena Ravenclaw. Guests will also get a glimpse of the Sorting Hat, the One-Eyed Witch statue and the Mirror of Erised.

@Orlando Attraction magazine

As for the ride itself just a few things that seem like a no brainier, so here's come of the details.
Quote:

• The full attraction experience, including the queue, takes about an hour.
• There are 12 scenes in the attraction.
• Award-winning composer John Williams oversaw the creation of the attraction’s score.
• Characters in the attractions (featuring Harry Potter film talent): Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Albus Dumbledore, Rubeus Hagrid and Draco Malfoy. You may also catch a glimpse of Fred and George Weasley, Ginny Weasley and Neville Longbottom.

I'd wondered if this attraction would be the truly immersive experience they'd promised, but this description makes it sound incredible.  The idea of the ride just being a small part of the overall attraction is excellent.  I can't wait to hear about it in June (if not sooner)!   It will be a few years before we get back to Orlando.
