Epcot gets another country and Universal countdown to announcement of new attraction
A Poll for Universal Orlando new Attraction.
Wow! How things have turn around here in the U.S. when in comes to theme park business. Rumors and attraction has starting to spark up like wildfire. This time two big players Disney and Universal Studios have been the subject of new lands and attractions.
Over at Epcot, rumors have come to life about a new country coming to World of Showcase at Epcot Center.
What you see above is an article from local region of Brazil newspaper reporting that Epcot World of Showcase will get a new land from the South America country know as Brazil.
Rumors are spreading about Brazil coming to Epcot, but then again anybody who remembers Epcot announcements of new lands, like Africa but never materialize. But, now that Fantasyland expansion at Magic Kingdom will finish phase one by 2011 and Star Tours 2 over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will open, something needs to balance over at Epcot, so why not a new land. I can only hope with this new land can we get something like a
NEW RIDE
Yes, I know that Epcot World of Showcase is great for all those older folks, but I think it’s time we don’t get just the same old boring M.O. of a Circle-Rama movie presentation. It’s time to spice up( no pun there, really) with not only a new country, but a new type of attraction. Restaurants are great. No problem there, but we need something that the whole family will experience and nothing says's that like a Disney imagineering attraction. So, please Disney, bring an attraction with this new country. Look towards the World’s Fair. Fans out there check out www.ExpoMuseum.com and look at those pavilion’s like Brazil as a way to introduce a new country with high tech media as a way get a attraction out of Disney that isn’t a flat movie. Urso Chappell of World’s Fair Podcast has got best insight into these pavilion, and he also a guest host on the Season Pass, so check his sites. Here’s some example of the kind of attraction Brazil did for the World’s Fair. I hope we get something like this.
Over at Universal Studios Orlando, it’s time to play the guessing game. Universal has been giving hints at to what’s their next attraction is going to be. Probably most people will guess that is most likely be “Despicable Me” due to the hint’s and how it relates to the movie. For example,
But many believe that Universal Orlando may be hinting at more then one attraction since it made it’s guessing game announced a while back when they said Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon Blast ride was closing. This has lead to believe that none other then KING KONG WILL RETURN
A big hit, over at Universal Studios Hollywood as part of the tram tour, many think it’s time that the beloved attraction King Kong that many fans has missed will return to Universal Orlando with the same 3D ride tech as their Hollywood sister park. Many believe it will replace Disasters which unfortunately is showing it’s aged due to it’s reset value being slow and constant retread of the same old attraction that hasn’t pass the Earthquake day’s since the 70’s when Hollywood tram tour introduce the ride system some ages ago.
I hope it’s not true because I like Disasters or Earthquake and it only needs to be retool for a new generation and not scrap completely. If anything, it should be Twister, I rather have Ghostbusters back then that. But I would think they could find a way to build a new house for KIng Kong then just scrap another existing attraction. There’s still room there, look over there at old Hard Rock Restaurant, what’s being going on at that place, oh nothing! How about turing this
into
this.
Just for the heck of it, here a video to one of the greatest dark rides at Universal Studios Orlando history. Oh, how we miss it. Kongfrontation. Let’s hope you come back.
Universal Orlando is have a special announcement on May 19, 2011. You can go to the official Universal Orlando facebook page or website for a special webcast of the announcement.
Which leds me to making my first poll. What do you thing the annoucment is going to be about. King Kong or Despicable Me. It be open till May 18, 2011 just before the announcement is made.
I definitely think that it's going to be Despicable Me over King Kong. It's seems like more of a popular choice and it's definitely more recent. _________________
Universal Studios just sent out news that they will announce 2 things on May 19, 2011. So, yeah I agree. It's going to be Despicable Me 100%. But the say two things. One being a new attraction and the other being enchantment to a popular attraction. I think this is King Kong with the 3D they did over at Hollywood. I think Disaster is getting another upgrade cause the tunnel there could be easily converter to screens so we plus it with two rides. Finger cross I hope both Kong comes back. Also, Universal let out another clue which is this math equation.
This is easily means CGI. Which is both what King Kong 4D and Despicable Me attraction mostly are.
Trying to connect the dots here. I hope it's true. _________________
Wow. This is all great news. I really like that Universal is stepping up their game and not resting on the success of Harry Potter. Every time they release a successful attraction, it puts pressure on Disney and other parks to do the same. It's a win-win for us.
