I'll be there with my 12-yr old coaster fanatic son James and his uncle. We're looking forward to a great time, rain or shine. They sold out the event - wow! Not sure what that means for X2, low throughput on that one, but still so much better than regular operations.
Hope to meet you!
Paul

Paul, can't wait to meet you and James. I agree on the X2 issue; I'm thinking it might be a one time and out deal come Sunday. _________________ Doug Barnes

Doug and Coastergirl, missed you in that ride-happy crowd of nearly 700.
James and I had a great time, from morning ERT until the bitter end at 10 pm. What an adventure, with showery skies parting to blue right at park opening, that lunchtime hail storm, and rides, rides, rides.
We nearly ended our day stuck on Superman. We flew up the hill, rolled back down and blew right through the station at full speed. Thank-you rare earth magnets, the e-brakes that can't break down. That was fun.
Otherwise, so much more. Terminator looks like it'll be a beast, plus those plans for better theming. Did you get your piece of the upcoming classic?
It was lost on James, but to have park executives put themselves out there for some of their most demanding fans was... well, unprecedented in my experience. I can't imagine too many others doing it. I hope you got in there and set up some interviews and other cool stuff to come.
Night time ERT on every coaster in the park, with the lights turned out! What a blast. Ok, X2 was down from the wind, but otherwise they were all going. So many other impressions. I'm wiped after the drive home to SD. Time for a nap.
Thanks so much for getting the word out on this event. Please keep up the great work. That's why I'm sorry we didn't get to say hello. Your podcasts always brighten up the day.
So sorry we couldn't see you guys. LOL, doug said he was looking for someone resembling who you could be but there were so many out there!!! LOL LOL.
We had a great time! It hailed during our behind the scenes tour of Terminator but we managed. I took some video of Tim Burhkart (~sp) giving the info about the ride. Doug will post it up on youtube as soon as he gets the chance. I'm totally stoked about it.
I for one was amazed at the turnaround they have done at this park!!! It was really awesome to get to hear the three managers talk about the steps they have taken to improve things. I also found it very interesting when they discussed what they thought about Mark Shapiro.
Doug and I are going to definitely talk about how impressed we are with the park now, i mean it's usually the butt of jokes but not anymore!
We ended our ERT at Goliath at around 9:00. The men I was with were babies.....LOL I could have gone on, probably. I might have killed myself but I could have gone on. I wasn't sure if Tatsu was still up and running so I didn't want to make the trek all the way up there and not be able to go on it.
It was totally awesome. We are so going to be doing this next year. We will have to do a show hyping it up for next year's event. Get as many people involved as possible.
Anyhow.........We are going to be recording the show tomorrow so I don't want to talk too much more about what we are going to talk about. Like i said, he has a little bit of on-ride audio and I have the video of the behind the scenes tour so you guys who weren't abe to make it can "be a part". LOL
It was a great day, and I was so so so glad I got to meet you (Doug and Shannon). Sadly, we never did get on X2, and never saw you 2 the rest of the day, but sounds like you had as good a day as us _________________ A Skittle and a Pony-Boy! I love Knott's!

Paul, I'm sorry we couldn't meet up; the crowd was huge!! We had a blast and Terminator is going to be something amazing! The Q&A session was very cool and yes... we do have some interviews lined-up.
Glad to hear you had fun and thank you for the kind words.

I was sitting there before we went in and recognized you facial hair, and then recognized Shannon's voice, and so I wanted to catch up with you after we got through the turnstiles It may sounds funny, but it was awesome hearing your voice live, for it just sounded clearer than the podcast I don't know why, but I thought it would sound different in real life
Season Pass Podcast all the way!
