Happy Father's Day Doug!!!!
I know we didn't get to do anything special for Father's Day this year, but I wanted to take this opportunity on a public forum to tell you what an awesome father you are and how much I love sharing mommy duties with your fatherly ones, including changing those diapers, which you do like a pro!! I knew you would be a great daddy when we decided to have kids, but you really have exceeded the bar and our kids are so lucky to have you as their dad. I can't tell you how many times I just sit and watch you playing with them and interacting with them when I should be working!! Watching you with our kids and raising them with you, I love you even more and more with every day.
I love you so, so much. I hope you had a great day, I'm sorry I couldn't be there more for you today .
Here's to sharing many more Father's days with you!!
Disneyland has been amazing!!! I love everything out here about 100 times more than at WDW. Let's just say the weather over in California is a TON better than in Florida. Your hot is our normal, and your normal is our very cold, haha.
I have no problem standing outside in line, it's SOOOOOOOO much nicer than the weather in Florida. I'm going to cry on the plane ride back home tomorrow.
The weather alone is enough to get me to move over here, hopefully I can do that in a couple years. The parks are also a huge reason. I've been going to Disneyland for 6 days now and can't get enough. I don't have to wait 20-40 min for a bus, then wait another 20-30 min to get to the park or hotel, and the lines have been great, except for today with the Toy Story Midway Mania opening. (The ride is awesome!)
All I gotta do to get to another park is walk right across the esplanade. If I want to go to Downtown Disney, I just take a right or left, instead of a long bus wait and ride, or taking a car 20 min. there. It's fantastic!!!
But yes, I can't believe I was teased for 21 years with that "world" in Orlando. The land puts it to shame in my opinion.
The key reason for taking this vacation to Disneyland was to see DCA before the changes, but I got a great trip out of this. I didn't expect the parks to bring SO much more detail and quality than I feel we have at WDW.
We also took 4 days to tour Southern California. It was all gorgeous. El Capitan is quality and the Disney Soda Fountain was great.
We never got to go to Universal, but we did take a WB studio tour which just made me want to be an actor even more. It was a great tour taking you through the different departments and the 3rd largest sound studio.
^ Lee! Glad you're having fun there! I've heard more people say they like WDW more than Disneyland, so it's nice to hear someone actually say good comments about Disneyland being compared to WDW. I haven't been to Disneyland yet, but I'd like to some day in the near future lol. Disneyland is smaller than WDW correct? So from you experience does Disneyland have more to offer than WDW? _________________

Apparently it is smaller, but I found it just as big as the Magic Kingdom, etc. heh.
Disneyland has a ton more rides than the Magic Kingdom has in WDW, from the map it seems like double the amount depending on what you consider an attraction. I loved riding the canoes!
Its just so much more relaxing knowing that once the fireworks have ended and the park is closing, you don't have to run to your bus stop so you don't have to wait in an hour+ line to get back to your resort, you just walk through downtown disney to it.
Getting back to Miami I was crying as I started to feel the humid weather again. I got in at midnight and it felt like it was 105 degrees. I miss California weather.
Lee 5, obviously I'm a huge fan of Disneyland (I've only mentioned it say... 30 TIMES or so) - so I'm glad to hear you had a great time. I can't compare it to WDW because well... I haven't been to Orlando yet (December can't come soon enough!!!). What I can say is nothing compares to the magic of Disneyland and I know it's cliché to say that but it’s true.
Seriously bro!... do you ever wonder how the hell they were able to establish that many attractions in such a small piece of real estate? And not just that, but each attraction takes you to a different world without you even pondering about the fact that another HUGE attraction sits right beside it. That’s why I call it MAGIC!
Anyway, off of my soap box, I agree - the weather is great, the parks always look new and beautiful, and the staff is wonderful. My kids have a blast there (my oldest talks about Disneyland everyday). Am I writing an essay right now? Hmmmmmm.....
Glad you had fun and who knows, if your still working Space Mt. in December maybe we can meet up (Fo Sho). Take Care my friend and enjoy that Hot Humid World – aka: Florida! _________________ Doug Barnes
