Another theme park news that didn't get big head way was the announcement of Cinecitta World. A movie theme park to be built near Rome, Italy would be a more mature theme park. Costing around $800 million dollars my of the park will focus on some of the biggest production that was done at Rome. Examples of movies to build around is Ben-Hur, Gladiator, spaghetti western, works by Dante Ferretti. Some of the films Mr. Ferretti has work on as a production designer has been Gangs of New York, The Aviator, Interview of a Vampire, Casino, and Sweeney Todd just to name of few. So look for these set to be reproduce as part of a theme park ride or show attraction. One curious attraction would be "City of Women" a movie where you tour the sexual history of one man's life. I don't have a clue what this park is going to be about, but I have to see this to believe it.
The project is slated to be completed in two parts. First part of the park will be open by 2011 with the rest by 2012. So, what does everybody think about this park. I'm personally looking forward to the spaghetti western part of the park. I a big fan of the Clint Eastwood "man with no name" series back in the 60's. The director of those films was Sergio Leone, which I'm a big fan of all his works. Another western films he's done are the classic "Once upon a time in the west", and "Duck, you sucker", but that "City of Women" got my interest too. Here's some link's to the story and some video of the park concept explain, but it's in Italian. If any of you international listens of the Season Pass know what they are talking about, please share with us. Check out Park World online for that story, but also for there online magazine. It's very similar to In-park magazine only dealing with international news.
