Orlando Sentinel has report that Legoland has statement that there no plans for a legoland park now, but they haven't counted it out for future plans.
Quote:
"To this end we are assessing the potential of several key areas, including Florida, and this often includes us undertaking consumer research. However, we have no specific plans as yet for the state."
This look's like a sign that Legoland is coming to Florida. Merlin has purchase the Cypress Garden park. Never been there I think. But hey with Merlin being park of Universal, Busch Gardens, and Sea World group this just surround Disney with a little more competition.
Here's the link to the story.

That's interesting. I also heard rumors here last fall that Legoland was expanding to Illinois near St. Louis. Not sure of that park's current status, but Florida does seem like a safer choice for them.
The first major theme park construction in the U.S since Hard Rock Park. Yeah, has it been that long. Well, it's great to hear another theme park coming which should give Blackstone and Merlin a leg up on Disney overlord of the kids attractions. This make me wonder if Disney will kick it up with all these other parks like Harry Potter and Legoland, will Disney put's it's new IP "Marvel" too work for some attraction. Only time will tell. Here's video of the official announcement from Orlando Attractions Magazine.
I think Legoland in Florida will only be a hit. Also, Blackstone is slowly making Disney go from worry to panic. Can you imagine the deals they can work out with a Universal, IOA, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Legoland Combo Package for tourists? Sounds like they have now established MAJOR competition in that region of the state. _________________ Doug Barnes

Oh yea, I think Disney will have to work extremely hard pull visitors from the other parks. I wont be the least bit surprised if they made deals for all the other parks (Universal, IOA, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Legoland, Aquatica, Wet N Wild, and Discovery Cove). Geez lookin forward to see what will happen...
