OK I admit I am a bit biased in this topics (I am still doing the yeah we won dance), but I am curious if everyone was happy with the outcome of the Oscars this year? _________________ Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you... But always dress for the hunt! Kungaloosh!
Hey I'm happy that Avatar didn't win all those awards like story, score, or goes knows acting. I felt Avatar was cashing in on how the awards is hip to popular movies. But I love The Hurt Locker and I enjoy UP, even though I seeing the Pixar story become a little more formulaic as more films coming down the the Pixar pipe. I thought Chris Waltz did such a good job and I glad a women win for best director. I enjoy Kathryn Bigelow work like Point Break and Near Dark and it's great to see that women can do the job just as well as a man even if it happens to be a Ex-Husband she beat out.
Hey, here's a Season Pass request are we ever going to hear from the Women of the industry? _________________
Oh I agree 100%... I am happy we won for Visual Effects, etc, but as with most Jim's films that is pretty much what deserve and since that is the only award that affects my resume, I am happy.
Sadly Hurt Locker has nto made it to us way over here yet, so I am still waiting to see what all the excitement is about. She does do action very well and lets be honest if she can get decent performances out of Keanu Reeves and Bill Paxton, you know she is good. hahah
That is a good point. You don't really hear about many female Imagineers, etc.. hmm glass ceiling at Disney.. nawhh never hmmmm _________________ Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you... But always dress for the hunt! Kungaloosh!

I keep telling him that he needs to seek out the ladies who are involved in the themed industry. I do believe that he has a couple of prospects, but I'll bug him some more about it!
I also enjoyed The Hurt Locker winning Best Picture. It think it's a very good film, though maybe not my favorite of the year. But it definitely deserved it a lot more than Avatar. Visually, Avatar was stunning, but the story was pretty derivative. I probably enjoyed Up more than The Hurt Locker, but it's such a different film that it's hard to compare.
For the acting, it was predictable, but it was great to see Jeff Bridges win, as well as Waltz, who was amazing in Inglourious Basterds. I haven't seen Precious, but have heard Monique was great. The one I wonder about is Sandra Bullock. I haven't seen The Blind Side so it's tough to comment, but the previews make it look very conventional and uninteresting.
