If I am correct today was the first day of soft opening for king kong. My brother and I were the first tram of the day thus making us the first people to ride the ride. The effects were awesome and my only complaint is it is really short. It does add something that the studio tour needs. Now I will start the spoiler section of my post. You receive your 3d glasses al,t the beginning of the tour. Yes you must hold onto them the whole time. First you enter the a room that has a brick wall similar to the brick on skull island in the movie there the director who's name I can't remember at this time talks about the attraction then we enter the actual showroom. It's starts out with you surrounded by dinosaurs and they spot you it the tram makes you feel like you are speeding away from them. You quickly get surrounded and they attempt to attack you kong comes in at the nick of time and throws the dinosaur over the tram. It lands and another dinosaur starts to attack the tram it makes it seem like part of the tram has fallen off but kong quickly catches them and put them on a tree branch. The kong yells and it ends. I saw rumors that they shift to new York but that was not in the soft opening maybe it will play later. Another complaint is it is hard to see the action at some spots in the tram at you really have to look hard but overall a good addition to the tram and universal studios hollywood

First Off, jgary9891, Welcome to the Season Pass Discussion Boards.  Make yourself at home my friend! Wink

Great review on King Kong, I'm actually very excited about this attraction.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to check it out this year!

I just saw the video of the 3D 360 Kong attraction.  That looks so wild.  I'm still a little sad that they didn't use Audio-Animatronics as much as they use too.  I was a big fan of Kongfrontation back at Orlando.  I guess it's a bit cheaper and a little cost effective to use these 3-D screen instead of animatronics. Still this looks cool enough to make my trip to Disneyland a great detour as well.  Here's a video of the attraction from the Universal youtube site.
