Interview reveals plans to redo Journey to Imagination ride.
In a surprise revelation during an interview with “Orlando Attraction Magazine”, Joe Tankersley show producer for Captain EO let out that Journey to Imagination pavilion will be going into a redo. While no plans or timeline were reveal, this interview does confirm the long rumor plans to redo the Imagination pavilion. Hopefully good old Dreamfinder and old school figment will make their triumphant return in the much need improvement to the Imagination pavilion. Here’s the video of that interview.
I so happy, they actually going to do it now. This version of Journey to Imagination ride was so horrible to me, I felt a imagination vampire took all my imagination from me when I rode this ride after a long hiatus from Epcot. What had they done to this great ride and wonderful place! I never knew just how bad this was, but with talk of then CEO-Michael Eisner never being a fan of Dreamfinder or the pavilion and it’s nickel and dime rehab during two versions of the ride, this just left many things that needed to be fix.
There are ready signs of old school Journey to Imagination coming back to Epcot. This year Epcot started selling new Dreamfinder t-shirts. The Examiner.com did a article about this and the ride when the t-shirts were being sold. Maybe this is a sign that Dreamfinder and the real figment are set to return in a much deserved redo of Journey to Imagination. Here’s a picture of the t-shirt with Dreamfinder and figment as well as a long fogotten 3-D Disney movie “Magic Jounrey”

For those who don’t remember to seen the old verison of the ride here’s video of that in this great youtube video.
Awesome. I still ride the latest version of the Imagination ride when I go to Epcot out of nostalgia (and no wait times), but it's a sad shell of its former self. Bringing back the Dreamfinder, making it a longer ride, and using the latest technologies should hopefully make for a great attraction once again.
Dan... You're a stronger man than I. I find the newest version Journey to Imagination completely terrible... so any "redo" plan is all good in my book. Desperately needed. _________________ Doug Barnes

I agree Doug,
Death to Idle.. ok maybe not death but the revamp of this ride should have been killed long ago. I know Disney is not in the habit of bringing rides back, but this is one of those rare exceptions that would work.
I am all for an "update" of technology, but use the old story, etc.... and while you are at it... tear out the new Mexico and do the same to that.

Oh this is great news! But of late refurbs at Disney World haven't been all they were cracked up to be, Mexico and Space Mountain to name a couple.
I agree though, this could work, and considering the feedback Disney have had ever since they changed this ride, it would be riddiculous to not do what everybody wants.
